The Southwest Monsoon in Brunei Darussalam is expected to continue until the end of September 2026, as well as the inter-monsoon period from October until the end of November 2026. During the Southwest Monsoon, the atmospheric conditions over Brunei Darussalam tend to be more stable with a reduction in localised thundershowers activity. The matter was shared during the 27th National Weather Briefing held at the Information Department.

The Briefing was one of the department's ongoing initiatives to foster engagement with a wide  range of user groups, such as those from First and Safety Responders, Economic and Industry groups, construction companies, insurance companies, Small and Medium Enterprises as well as from the mass media. This briefing also served to support early preparedness and planning in response to varying weather conditions.
